GET INVOLVED >>

THANK YOU!

Thank you to those of you who supported me and voted for me. While the results were different, our campaign brought a new set of issues and ideas into the discussion during the course of the campaign.

We'll continue to speak on behalf of the thousands of people who feel that their political system is far removed from them and to assist seniors, local business owners and the working and middle class during our regular hours every Monday and Thursday nights all year round. Stay involved and active. It's your city and country too.

SOME STATEMENTS FROM FRIENDS & SUPPORTERS

I wanted to share some of the wonderful e-mails that people sent me. Thank you and God bless every one who called, emailed me and voted for me. I will continue my public service for all New Yorkers.

  • Dear Carlos, YOU are the reason I voted last night -- and probably not in your "area." I am sorry that the results were what you had hoped and expected, but I think you ran a great race. I saw Milena this morning and told her that you were the driving factor for me to get to the polls! Please keep me posted and I will look forward to hearing from you.
  • Carlos: Thanks for putting up an INCREDIBLE campaign. You put up a great fight. As I said in my voicemail, win or lose, you are always a winner to me!
  • Carlos, Sometimes the best man doesn't win, and with yesterday's Manhattan Borough President Democratic Primary, this was one of those times. I'm sure that given your many talents and great energy, your future endeavors will be more succesful.
  • We live to fight another day!
  • Dear Carlos, You put up a good fight for a good cause. That alone is noble. I am sorry you did not win this race as I know you would have made a great Borough President. But there will be another fight and another day. Thank you so much for all you do for our city. God bless you and get some well deserved rest!
  • Carlos,I am sorry I wasn't able to give more in terms of time or money, but am very poud to have supported you and look forward to doing so again.
  • It was a pleasure to be part of a dynamic and energetic campaign. Don't be discouraged--your time will come!
  • Carlos, Un abrasoooote...Es un orgullo tener personas colombianas como tu en la politica de NY

  • Dearest Carlos, Don't despair...you fought valiantly my friend. There are times when it's the battle that we needed, not the victory. Congratulations for taking on the challenge until its completion. Many never venture nearly that far.
  • Hi Carlos. I am so sorry we lost. You are still a winner in my heart My sister's and many other people. So where do we go from here? whatever, whenever and wherever I will be there every step of the way. Please let me know.
  • I will continue to walk along with you on whatever political quest.
  • Congratulations, Carlos, on a well-fought fight! I look forward to supporting you again in the future.
  • I am sorry to hear about the final results, but keep in mind that you ran an impressive race. It was such a wonderful experience to be a part of your campaign. I have never done anything like that before. I regret that I was only able to help out 3 or 4 times. Keep me posted on what you will be doing in the future. I would love to be involved in your future campaigns. You are a very impressive person. My sister and I were briefly at Jim's Birthday party and it was refreshing to watch you speak to people. You really listened to everyone and it was obvious that you cared about what they had to say. It isn't very often that you see people like that. I have no doubts that you will continue making a difference in this city. Take care!
  • You are a great person with lots to look forward to. I look forward to working with you again.
  • Good luck, Carlos; you fought a good fight.
  • Thank you! You ran an honorable campaign and one which established you as a "player" on the NYC scene -- both good results. And the major themes of your campaign will, particularly with your continued active involvement and public visibility, become part of the public discourse leading to implementation/change. That will be your legacy from this effort.
  • Ready to be part of your fight!...and we all know that Hell's Kitcheners know best.
  • Having been through a few defeats I can well understand your feelings today. I am truly sorry that the campaign couldn't muster more money and more votes. I am absolutely convinced that you have a great future in politics, so don't let this discourage you. You have the talent, the youth and, of course, the good looks.
  • I will help in anyway I can. Remember - it ain't over till it's over :-)
  • You will always be a winner to me. I will support you again. Anytime. Thank you for trying.
  • I consider the fact that I was able to draw the curtain and select the Manzano lever a huge success!
  • Congratulations on the great campaign that you led.
  • I'll always be your friend.
  • Keep the faith, and good luck, let’s talk down the road, you did a good job, but the dollars that was raised by Stringer was detrimental.
  • Dear Carlos: we are very proud of your efforts and voice and look forward to the next steps in thejourney! Much continued success.
  • Carlos, Thank you for running such a fine campaign. I appreciate your hard work and qualifications. As, always I will support you in any candidacy for the future.
  • I'm sorry it didn't work out this time, but there will be other opportunities in the future. Hang in there, the city needs you.
  • Let me tell you why I voted for you. I asked representatives of each candidate who they thought the best and second best BP would be. Of course each picked their own candidate as #1. But you came in next on almost every choice. That means that your rivals consider you the best. Who am I to argue with professional polititions?
  • I called to congratulate you on the way you ran a fine race. I am sorry you lost, but more good things will come your way. Please stay in touch and we will see each other soon.
  • As far as I am concerned you won. You put on a good fight and you must be proud of the fact that you dared to do. Others have tried and only dreamed of getting as far as you did. You must rest now and review your next plan of action. You have done well Carlos. Until next time good luck.

  • Hi Carlos-- I hope this note finds you well--and I'm sure that you're exhausted! I think that you ran a terrific race--and I'm so sorry that you didn't win--but I'm so proud of your superlative effort!
  • Keep your chin up and your eyes on the prize, Carlos. You're
an extremely well motivated and nice person. There's no
doubt you'd have been terrific for Manhattan and the City.
  • I was going to wait a week or so before reaching out to you, but it sounds like you've abrorbed everything and have a terrific attitude! Remember that real friends and supporters will be with you in bad times as well as good, and you can always count on me.
  • Waves to Carlos, Good Job....!!!!!
Sure we will be part of our future... We talked about the results and realized hey this was your first run.. now people know who you are... so guess what ???? I learned from having a successful book that the meaning of success is just more work... so put on your running shoes... and continue the causes that you already began...and keep on moving....forward...the more we polish ourselves the more the light reflects...hugs love.
  • Dear Carlos, You are a true leader with a lot of class and enthusiasm! I hope you will keep me in your list of supporters for whatever you run for or are involved in! My very best regards
  • Dear Carlos, we were so disappointed that you were overlooked. However, it shows what one is up against I guess, and maybe how to maneuver through the opposition next time. Meanwhile there is so much work to be done isn't there and it is comforting to us to know that you are back at work. Thank you for all your efforts on our behalf.
  • Run for public office never give up
  • We're all behind you. Keep it going.
  • I'd like to thank YOU for all of your hard work and enormous dedication to this neighborhood and this city. It was a pleasure being able to make your acquaintance and I look forward to your continued enthusiasm that you bring to helping so many people. You have a courageous heart that is a blessing to all of us.
  • I am so sorry that the best man didn't win. But I so enjoyed working on your campaign, and I look forward to the next fight.
  • Seguir sobre el caballo es la consigna. No desmayar, siempre avante. Tu puedes y sabras buscarle la leccion positiva a todo esto. Suerte.
